During the first 1 or 2 sessions sufficient information is gathered to make an initial evaluation about a client’s presenting concerns. At this point a discussion takes place with the client about the depth and scope of the work involved in order to achieve a client’s desired outcomes/goals. If an agreement between the client and Mary is achieved then a treatment plan is devised. Many different methods may be used to assist a client to address, cope and resolve their problems. Much will depend on the nature of the problem and the motivation of a particular client to work toward achieving this end.
